The Eight, Vibrating

Abstract

I said I see vibrating strings of light and sound, twisting together in a figure eight. The static figure eight was built and computed before, and it died by theorem: a frozen defect network carries no Nieh–Yan charge, and the charge is zero by the shape of the forms, not by smallness. But I never described a frozen eight. Mine moves. So this paper builds the moving one. Two screw strands cross at the eight's own node angle, ninety degrees, and their centres vibrate against each other along the normal — the twisting mode. I compute the Nieh–Yan charge over a full period of the motion. It is zero. Not small — zero, at the level of the arithmetic itself, while the same arithmetic returns a nonzero wedge the moment a leg allows one. At the eight's own angle the density is zero at every instant, for two separate reasons this paper prints. At any other crossing angle the density does live, instant by instant — and a bound vibration still sums it to exactly nothing over a closed cycle. So the vibrating eight, built the way I described it, carries no Nieh–Yan charge either. The kill prints at the same size a stand would have got. What it kills is sized carefully at the end: this one motion, of this one crossing. A sustained breaking of the axial current is what a charge would take, and a bound vibration is not that.

The result, in plain language

Program note

Paper 150 of the November 1, 2026 day charge — batch 2 of the writing bench, deposited the day it was written. Its verdict, as printed on its face: KILL — the vibrating eight carries no Nieh-Yan charge (Q = 0 at arithmetic level)
