Two Boundaries in Time: The pairing step, translated into the two-state-vector formalism - and where the translation stops

About this paper

The home step of the vacuum work — entries in equal opposite pairs, cancelling exactly, a constant unpaired remainder the only part that weighs — carried into the two-state-vector formalism of Aharonov, Bergmann and Lebowitz, the one formalism built on a pair of boundaries in time. The cancellation survives the trip, in a stronger form than the home version has earned, because the formalism owns the operator the pairing rule still owes. The remainder does not survive: every candidate image of it either cancels exactly when the ledger closes over all future boundaries, depends on which future boundary the experimenter chose, or grows without bound as the boundaries approach orthogonality and stops existing there. Cell S1×TIME grades RHYME, the toll registered for it in advance is NOT PAID — and the paper prints the consequence for its companion: TP-5's citation of this cell as support stands withdrawn at the source.
